Event-Filled Weekend

Are you  sitting there pondering the heavy question, “what am I going to do this weekend?” Well, I will give you a couple options.  You have to pick one of these.  Nothing else. Saturday, and Saturday only, Coalition Brewery will be hosting Mighty Mites – A Session Beer Festival!  Dedicated to small beers with big flavor, Mighty Mites runs from noon until the pour runs dry.  Reuse a previous festival mug, or buy one new.  Tastes are $1 with full pints $4. Women + Beer = Celebrate

Mosey on over to Saraveza this Saturday to celebrate women in beer!  LOLA (Ladies of Lagers & Ales) presents a day dedicated to the lady brewers and the beer they craft.  You can pop on in anytime & enjoy a pint but make sure you’re there for special tappings at 7, including the Hibiscus IPA from LOLA. I will be there with the Meooow Ale – a light/crisp blonde with a “pinch of” guava added to balance out the dry finish imparted from the large addition of honey.  6% ABV Thanks to Little Man for letting me use his photo.

La Luz Summer Session Ale

Summer is here!  At least for three days!  Our summer seasonal is also here!  But for more than three days!  I had previously mentioned the beer we were working on and now it’s ready to be delivered to the masses (aka six bars) and drunk by thousands (aka more than a bakers dozen).  La Luz Summer Session Ale, or the beer previously known as “Yet to be Named” Ale, is a cross between a wheat/blonde/herb/spice beer – so in other words, there’s a lot going on here.   The wheat, paired with the corn and oats, provides a silkiness and

Information Overload

Otherwise titled, Information Overdue! I recently quit my day job and have been working full-time at the brewery for a month now.  I thought I knew what I was doing because I had been doing this with Ian for so long now but had never had to do it solo, he was always here taking care of everything and I was here for the excellent assistant help when needed.  I learned two things real quick: I didn’t know as much as I thought I did and I need to listen more when I’m being told how to do things (that’s
